The United Rugby Championship outfit made it two wins from two so far in Pool A on Friday night following their stunning Round 1 success at ASM Clermont Auvergne and took a crucial bonus point as well after scoring four tries.

The prop missed out on the first European match of the season due to injury – so it was particularly special for him to play in front of the Kingspan crowd.

“I haven’t played a home game since Glasgow [on September 24], so it was great being back home with full stands and noise, and Europe – it was brilliant,” he said afterwards.

Moore and the rest of the Ulster team know just how important it was to edge Friday’s win against such tough opponents.

“It’s great to back [the Clermont win] up against a good Saints side – a very happy changing room,” said Moore afterwards.

“Their attack is so good. You look at their launch play - they really, really pushed us. On the other side of the ball, we did very well. We got some good gain early on. We looked at what we could tidy up. A good one for the spectators tonight and thankful we came out on the right side!”
