Toulon bested Section Paloise 37-20 at the Stade Mayol, notching five tries in the contest. Facundo Isa and Jiuta Wainiqolo dotted down in the first half for the three-time Challenge Cup runners-up as the hosts opened up a 20-6 lead at the interval.

Julien Blanc and Louis Carbonel crossed the whitewash in the second period before Wainiqolo secured his second of the contest in added time for Toulon.

Meanwhile, Lyon suffered a heavy 42-10 defeat at the hands of Union Bordeaux-Begles. Leo Berdéu - the leading scorer in the Challenge Cup this season (61) - scored a lone penalty for the visitors prior to an 80th minute penalty try as Lyon completed their preparations ahead of a maiden European final.
