The venue for the 2003 Heineken Cup final on 24 May, the famous Lansdowne Road Stadium, originally built in 1872 and the oldest international rugby ground in the world, is home to the Irish Rugby Football Union. The first international was played against England in 1878, they visitors winning 7-0.

It is the venue for Ireland's rugby and soccer home matches. The stadium has hosted some of the finest games in rugby history - including the gripping 1999 Heineken Cup final when Ulster beat Colomiers - and has been the venue for Rugby World Cup games

By Bus: There are regular bus services from Busaras in the centre of Dublin to the ground.

Nearest Airport: Dublin International Airport, situated around 7/8 miles from the city centre. Buses runs to Busaras every 20 mins.

Nearest Port: Dun Laoghaire Port is a 15 minute train ride from the city centre and serves Liverpool, Stranraer and Anglesey.
