Multiple Heineken Champions Cup final referee Wayne Barnes highlighted the prestige attached to officiating in the competition, saying: "There's some fantastic stadiums in Europe and I think that's what makes it such a special competition.

"I think that's why everyone who comes up here from the south want to play in it and our colleagues keep asking for an exchange for a couple of months!

"You've got Thomond Park, Toulon, Clermont, these wonderful stadiums around the world."
