Exeter top the pool after their outstanding 31-12 win at La Rochelle in Round 1 last weekend – a point ahead of Glasgow, who battled to a 13-7 home victory over Sale Sharks.

“It will be a big game,” Cummings told the Glasgow website. “Exeter are a team that are consistently good. They have a lot of great English internationalists playing for them.

“We are probably going down as underdogs, but that’s a card we like playing.”

Cummings revealed that the Warriors are especially looking forward to a reunion with Scotland full-back Stuart Hogg, who moved from Scotstoun to England after the Rugby World Cup.

“It will be good to play him,” said the second-rower. “I’m sure everyone will be trying to rile him up as much as possible – he'll expect that and will probably try and do the same to us!

“We’re excited to play him as much as he is against us, so we’re all looking forward to it.”

Cummings is looking for a repeat performance in the line-out, where he claimed four throws against Sale.

“That was definitely a plus for us,” said the 22-year-old. “We knew going into the game that was an area we were going to try and target.

“We have good line-out jumpers and hats off to Tim (Swinson) and Rob (Harley,) who run a lot of our defence. Both did a great job.”
