Carbery, who tallied 45 points for Munster in last season’s Heineken Champions Cup and helped Leinster Rugby secure EPCR’s elite title in 2018, comes in as one of nine changes made by head coach Andy Farrell.

Leinster prop Tadhg Furlong is one of the six players who retain their places following last Saturday’s 19-16 victory over South Africa and will captain Ireland for the first time.

Prop Jeremy Loughman has also been called up to start and will make his Test debut, joining Munster teammate Tadhg Beirne, who retains his place at lock, in the team.

The Leinster quartet of Jimmy O’Brien, Robbie Henshaw, Jamison Gibson Park and Jack Conan start at full-back, centre, scrum-half and No.8 respectively. Conan’s inclusion sees clubmate Caelan Doris switch to blindside flanker.

Ulster Rugby hooker Rob Herring, lock Kieran Treadwell and flanker Nick Timoney are the other three introductions, with the province now boasting five representatives in the starting side as centre Stuart McCloskey and wing Robert Baloucoune keep their spots.
