The Leinster Rugby flanker, who notched two tries in seven matches during the Irish province’s run to the Heineken Champions Cup final, scored two of Ireland’s five tries on the afternoon.

Munster Rugby’s Dave Kilcoyne, Ulster Rugby’s Stuart McCloskey and Doris’ Leinster teammate Cian Healy were the other names on the scoresheet. Jack Crowley of Munster and Ciarán Frawley of Leinster combined for four conversions.

Elsewhere, Scotland produced a stunning 18-point comeback to defeat France 25-21 at Murrayfield – fly-half Finn Russell goaling 10 points with two penalties and two conversions.

Russell, who boasts 242 Heineken Champions Cup points in his nine-season career in EPCR competition, will make move from Racing 92 to Bath Rugby following the World Cup and will be eager to impact the English side’s fortunes during next season’s campaign as they face his former team Racing, as well as Stade Toulousain, Cardiff Rugby and Ulster Rugby in Pool 2.

Tries from the Edinburgh trio of Darcy Graham, Pierre Schoeman and Dave Cherry punctuated the comeback – Scotland trailed 21-3 at the interval – while the Scots also overcame the dismissal of Glasgow Warriors’ Zander Fagerson in the second half.

Baptiste Couilloud (Lyon), Louis Bielle-Biarrey (Union Bordeaux-Bègles) and Cameron Woki (Racing 92) dotted down for the visiting French side in defeat.

Meanwhile, Wales overwhelmed England in their pre-World Cup meeting at the Principality Stadium – Leigh Halfpenny of Scarlets notched 10 points in addition to tries from domestic teammate Gareth Davies and Ospreys’ George North.

Harlequins’ Marcus Smith was the lone points scorer for England as he kicked three penalties from the tee, tallying nine points.

The 2023 EPCR Player of the Year nominee Caelan Doris led the way as Ireland overcame Italy 33-17 in the Autumn Internationals – preparation for the upcoming Rugby World Cup.
